Of course, volumes could and have been written on this subject.  Here I simply want to highlight three critical elements of spiritual warfare.  First, truth.  Truth is what spiritual warfare is fundamentally all about.  In order to ascertain truth, regardless of any individual’s education level or IQ, one needs an infallible source.  There is only one of those in the universe.  That source is God.  Evil is that which is opposed to God and its essence is the lie.  The greatest opponent of the lie is truth.  Truth is defined as that which corresponds to reality.  The demonic realm accomplishes its goals with lies.  Truth from God is the weapon that defeats the lies.

Second, faith.  Faith is that which allows one to see the truth.  Faith is not believing in a “religious or spiritual world.”  Faith is not make believe.  Through faith the real world is perceived.  Later on I’ll provide an illustration, a diagram of this.  Without faith the lies of the demonic realm cannot be pierced.

Third, prayer.  Prayer is calling upon the ultimate power, God, to pierce the lies of the enemy and to subdue the enemy.  It takes much more than human power to subdue a demon.  Only God has the power to do it.  God’s power is accessed by prayer.

Keep in mind, these three elements work together.  If any one of them is removed the other two become useless.
